Dairy Calf Insecticide Program

Calf Hutches:

1.Calves: Spray or dust, head to tail

• Dust each with Zipcide or Cylence 1–2 oz as needed
• Prozap Insectrin 1% Xtra- spray ½ oz per 100 lbs as needed

2.Hutch: Apply to all interior surfaces

• Prozap Insectrin X
  Mix 3.2 ounces in 1 gallon water, apply using a pump sprayer to cover the interior of the Hutch- reapply every two weeks
• Demand CS
  Mix 0.08 oz per 1 gallon water, apply using a pump sprayer to cover the interior of the Hutch- reapply every two weeks

3.Hutch Bedding- Maggot control

• Prozap Dust "R"- spread evenly over bedding 4–6 oz per hutch, repeat as needed
• Ravap- Mix .5 oz Ravap/1 gallon water
  Spray evenly over bedding use 1 gallon/100 sq ft. repeat every 7-10 days
  DO NOT SPRAY RAVAP DIRECTLY ON CALVES
• Neporex Larvicide
  Fogging Calf Housing- Using A-1 Mist sprayer
  • 1.Evergreen 60-6: Mix 1 quart/48 gallon water, fog as needed
  • 2.Vapona 400E: Calves older than 6 MONTHS
    Mix 1 gallon/48 gallons water, fog as needed
  • 3.Ravap E.C.: Calves older than 6 MONTHS
    Mix 1 quart/48 gallons water, fog as needed

On Animal Application:(Choose One)

 

Dust Bag Rotation: Use Prozap Dust Bags in return alleys

1. 1.Zipcide Dust (Co-Ral)
2. 2.Cylence Dust (Cyfluthrin)
3. 3.Dust R (Rabon)

Backrubber Application: Use PH White rub or CT E-ZE Oiler

1. 1.Prozap Backrubber Xtra-RTU
2. 2.Insectrin X and Diesel Fuel Mix: 8 oz Insectrin X in 5 gallon Diesel fuel
3. 3.Ravap: mix 5 oz in 1 gallon diesel fuel

RTU Spray: Pour-on or Cattle Guard applicator

1. 1.Prozap Insectrin 1% Pour-on Xtra: apply ½ oz per 100 lb body weight, max of 5 oz per animal
2. 2.Prozap VIP: Spray as needed

Premise: Maggot Control

Manure Piles/Bedding Pack: premise and along base of the bunks, NOT ON FEED

1. 1.Vapona 400E: Mixes 1 qt in 25 gallons water, spray apply 1 to 2 qts solution to 100 sq. ft.
2. 2.Ravap E.C.: Mixes 1 gallon in 25 gallons water, spray apply 1 gallon solution/100 sq. ft.

Feed Rooms & Storage Buildings

1. 1.CT 75 aerosol
2. 2.Prozap Dy Fly aerosol
3. 3.Prozap LD-44Z
4. 4.Insect Guards: one Insect Guard covers 12 x 12 room

Storage Rooms & Trash Dumpster

1. 1.Prozap Insect Guards: one Insect Guard covers 12’x12’ room

CAUTION- DO NOT SPRAY Vapona 400E or Ravap on calves less than 6 months of age.
